|
|
Vitamins are organic compounds that are required for the nourishment of the body. The human body is unable to produce vitamins and therefore we need to include vitamins rich foods in our daily diet. Lots of people take vitamins in order to supplement their diet and provide nutrition to their body. However, there is a common question often troubling everyone: Can vitamins make you gain weight? There is no evidence that proves that vitamins make you gain weight. Vitamins such as vitamin B can help you feel energetic throughout the day. This is because they provide an energy boost to the body. They also help the body to sustain energy throughout the day. This energy is obtained by the body without adding any extra calories to your diet. It is best to take vitamin B in the morning. There is no known evidence of vitamins that help you gain weight. Certain vitamins like vitamin E, C and B speed up cell regeneration and also improve the nervous system. This improves our mental wellbeing and helps us feel good about ourselves. Vitamins such as vitamin A and D, found commonly in fish oils, also help to improve our mental health and improve brain functioning as they contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are further beneficial as they also help to lubricate the joints. Pregnant women who take prenatal vitamins often worry and question, “can prenatal vitamins make you gain weight?” Although there is a lot of weight gain involved in pregnancy, there is no evidence to support that prenatal vitamins adds to this weight gain. Prenatal vitamins provide all the essential nutrients which are required by the body, and they do not increase your calorie intake. Calorie intake causes weight gain. As there is no calorie intake there is no weight gain due to prenatal vitamins. When people wonder “Do prenatal vitamins make you gain weight?” they need to remember that it is perfectly normal to gain about 15-40 pounds during pregnancy. In fact the average weight gain during pregnancy is 30 pounds. If you are bothered by this weight gain, you need to remember that you will lose most of the weight you have gained immediately after delivery. Over the following weeks, you will be able to lose even more weight. Prenatal vitamins help you by providing all the requirements that the body needs. Consumption of prenatal vitamins ensures the good health of the baby as they supplement the essentials that mother’s body lacks. Vitamin A during pregnancy helps in the development of good eyesight and healthy bones and vitamin B6 helps in the development of the baby’s brain and the nervous system. They also help to produce red blood corpuscles and reduce morning sickness in pregnant women. Thus one need not worry and question on do vitamins make you gain weight, but rather choose methods to stay healthy and strong. |
