What is a raw food diet?

A raw food diet plan can be described as a diet program, in which at least 75% or everything you eat is in the raw form. Therefore, the foods that are generally included in this diet are fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains, sprouts, juices, dried fruit, spices and herbs. A raw food diet consists of interesting and delicious recipes like raw granola, fresh salads, raw vegan nut cheese, raw cheese, sashimi, hot chocolate, chocolate cake, ice cream, salsa, guacamole and pesto. Some of the other fun foods that can be included in a raw food diet are raw chocolate, goji berries, young coconuts, maca and raw honey. There are some people who include fish and poultry of good quality in a raw food diet.


However, most of the raw food eaters also follow a vegan diet and therefore, they do not eat any meat, dairy products or other animal products.

Apart from the raw food diet weight loss benefits, this diet is one of the best ways to detoxify your body too. However, just like any other diet plan, a raw food diet plan should include foods that are healthy and contain essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, protein, carbs and fats and so on. Fortunately, it is very easy to get all such nutrients from most of the foods that are a part of a raw food diet. Raw food diet program is the new way of diet program that will help in reducing the weight in healthy manner. These foods are natural, unprocessed and uncooked foods, organic and plant based. Some of the foods present in raw food diet are vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, water. Nuts, seeds. It is not cooked as it contains certain enzymes that are digestible and can be inactivated by cooking.

Raw food diet is beneficial for boosting the energy levels, lowering cholesterol, enhancing the appearance of skin, lowering heart diseases, lowering body weight as well as lowering the risk of developing cancers and diabetes. It is rich in fiber as well as potassium and is not caloric dense. Certain reaction to the detoxification of raw foods are head ache, nausea and depression. Certain phytochemical present in the raw foods are inactivated and only gets activated on heating. Thus raw foods can be beneficial for those who are health conscious. You need to increase the bulk of foods to satisfy the hunger.
