Sugar Diabetes Diet The most important dietary management is to avoid sugar in the diet or avoid consuming food with added sugar. Hence it is necessary to avoid consumption of cakes, candies, pastries, chocolates, jams and jellies as it contain high amount of refined sugar. However a person with diabetes can consume unto 10% of caloric intake as items containing added sugar. Thus person having unto 2000 calories per day can consume unto 50 gms or 10 teaspoon of sugar per day. The diabetics cannot consume more than this. |
