Drinking tea is good for the health of heart?

Tea is one of the most commonly consumed beverages all over the world and generally makes up a large part of the routine of a number of people. Some of the major medical conditions that green tea is known to have a positive effect on include rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, infection, cardiovascular disease and impaired immune functionality. The primary beneficial constituent of green tea is a substance known as epigallocatechin gallate (also known as EGCG) which works to kill cancer cells without causing any harm to healthy tissue. Green tea is considered to be the main reason why the Japanese population suffers from a much lower rate of heart disease than its American counterpart even though approximately seventy five percent of the Japanese population smokes cigarettes, much higher than the American numbers. The only negative effect of consumption of green tea is the fact that its caffeine content increases the likelihood of suffering from insomnia.
