Advice on what to eat Obesity or simply being overweight is becoming an increasingly prominent problem all over the world – so much so that a number of countries have declared the condition as being a pandemic. The increasing reliance that most of us have on fast foods like burgers and hot dogs because of the fact that they are an extremely convenient part of our fast paced lives contributes significantly to the excess weight that we put on. These fast foods contain none of the proteins, vitamins and minerals that our body requires and so the calories it provides are called empty calories. These empty calories promote weight gain as they are easily converted into fats which are then stored in the body. Fortunately, there are several steps being taken to control this condition and people are now aware of the medical problems caused by obesity and so many people try to shed those excess pounds. A healthy diet and exercise schedule is an effective method for permanent weight loss. What to eat on a diet will depend substantially on the kind of lifestyle and routine that one leads. There are also several natural remedies and herbs for weight loss that you can include in your diet to help speed up the process. It is important to consult your doctor to find out what to eat and what herbs you can include in your diet as certain herbs may react with medications. The fact that most of the recommended foods are unlikely to be tasty will usually put a lot of people off the idea of going on a diet. While these healthy foods may not contain plenty of oil and spices, they can still be tasty. You can always make a honey and sesame salad dressing instead of a creamy dressing. You could also make a thick dressing out of yogurt that has blended with a dash of salt and spices along with finely chopped veggies. Knowing what to eat and how to include it in your diet will help to increase the palatability of your meals and will help you to stick to your diet. |
