Chinese Food Diet

Obesity is one of the biggest problems faced all over the world at the moment and, given the fact that a number of people believe that the biggest effect it will have on a persons life is purely restricted to his or her aesthetic appeal, there is a lot of misinformation and ignorance surrounding the condition until an individual him or herself has been affected by the condition. Obesity is the primary causing factor in the development of a number of other conditions that can have a varied impact on an individual’s lifestyle rising up to lethal degrees. Some of the more serious conditions that develop as the result of obesity include heart failure, chronic respiratory disease, blood pressure problems as well as cholesterol issues. Another aspect of obesity that is often overlooked until the point it has fully developed is the fact that the additional body weight applies a significant amount of strain on the legs and knee joints – causing chronic joint pain that will make some of the most minimal of movements quite painful.

Although there are a few individuals that can point the finger of blame at factors that ay be out of their control such as in the case of hereditary and genetics, these individuals are few and far between with a majority of the cases of obesity being down to an inappropriate diet and a distinct lack of exercise. The inappropriate diet is a common occurrence given the fact that we live rather hectic and fast paced lives – causing us to rely heavily on the convenience of fast foods.

Although these foods, like burgers and hot dogs, are rather tasty, they contain none of the nutrients that our bodies require for optimum performance and are simply packed with empty calories that serve no other purpose apart from being converted into fat cells just after consumption.

Given the fact that food plays a very prominent role in the overall traditions and way of life of the Chinese people, it is easy to understand why so much planning has gone into the way they create their meals. One will notice that a majority of oriental folk are rather trim. This is primarily because of the kinds of foods they eat on a regular basis. Although most other countries have adopted various versions of the Chinese meals, in most cases heavily padding them with fatty meats and a lot of rice content, studies have shown that when the meals are prepared authentically – they can actually serve to be a long term solution to the obesity crisis all over the world. The Chinese food diet revolves around the fact that in Chinese food, calories are never counted and still results in many of the people remaining thin. Another very prominent factor in Chinese food nutrition is the fact that vegetables play a huge role in the overall preparation. When it comes to Chinese food diets, the Chinese are known to treat the vegetables as major components of their main courses rather than as garnishing to meal – which is prevalent in the west. The Chinese food for weight loss plans also give much credence to the fact that without the involvement of rice, it is impossible to eat until you are full given the fact that it is high in nutrient and fiber content while still being low in fat. Soups and soup based dishes are another very common component of Chinese food diets and help to ensure that the body receives the right amount of liquid content to prevent the body from dehydrating over the course of the day.

Benefits of Chinese Food Diet

A diet based on Chinese food is generally regarded as a healthy diet, if the main emphasis is on plenty of steamed vegetables. In reality, the Chinese are extremely concerned about the kind of foods that they eat as they are extremely health-conscious.  A basic Chinese diet comprises vegetables, seafood, different kinds of fish, soya beans etc. the Chinese adopt a variety of cooking methods such as steaming, boiling, stewing, roasting, baking and Jewish and do not involve a lot of oil in their cooking. The Chinese diet also has very little amounts of deep fried food, but also rely on stir frying in addition to the above methods. There are various reasons behind the eating habits of the Chinese. One of the most basic and common concept of a healthy eating habit among the Chinese is the balance between the yin (feminine) and the yang (masculine). The Chinese believe that the root cause of most illnesses and ailments is the failure to maintain this particular balance.  The Yin foods comprise all the fruits and vegetables while the yang food consists of types of meat.

The traditional Chinese diet is far healthier than the ones available in Chinese restaurants or take outs. The Chinese use red meat only occasionally and rely only on plant foods and small amounts of fish. According to the Chinese, having plenty of complex carbohydrates such as different types of vegetables and rice with only meat used as seasoning, is the perfect diet for maintaining that health. If you enjoy Chinese food, and you're looking to make a choice in a Chinese restaurant, opt for the healthier choices such as sweet potatoes, bean sprouts, eggplant, kale, watercress, mushrooms, tomatoes, celery, cabbage, Bok Choy, spinach and broccoli instead of deep fried pork or beef dishes.  Also look out for foods that are steamed, stewed and stir fried rather than deep fried options.
