Is vinegar good for dandruff?

Dandruff is a condition characterized by the shedding of an abnormally high amount of dead skin cells from the scalp. This problem becomes evident through the appearance of silvery white, oily flakes and may be accompanied by itchiness and redness of the scalp.

The use of white vinegar for dandruff treatment is one of the best known remedies for this embarrassing problem. Massaging the scalp with vinegar, an hour before a bath, helps in improving blood circulation while regulating the pH balance of the skin.  It also helps in fighting off germs like yeast that may be responsible for dandruff. In addition, it assists in preventing the accumulation of sebum and dead skin cells that aggravate the condition.

Apple cider vinegar for dandruff treatment is believed to provide better results. A concoction of a cup of apple cider vinegar and a cup of warm water can be used for a final rinse after washing hair to combat a severe dandruff problem. In addition, this form of treatment with apple cider vinegar conditions the hair, making it glossy and easy to manage. Since a single application may not be sufficient for the treatment of dandruff, using vinegar for dandruff treatment at least once a week is recommended.

Can acupuncture stop hair loss?

Early loss of hair could prove to be one of the most upsetting of all conditions as it makes individuals appear older than they really are, thus affecting confidence levels. Hence, remedies for curbing hair loss are always being sought.

The best home remedy to control hair loss is a regular head massage with olive oil or almond oil. Evading direct exposure to the harmful rays of the sun, avoiding stress and staying away from harsh hair care products also helps in minimizing hair fall. In addition to such remedies, acupressure for hair loss is gaining importance. The nerve endings found just below the fingernails are directly connected to the roots of the hair. Rubbing the nails of both hands against each other stimulates these nerves and promotes the flow of blood to the hair follicles. This strengthens hair and prevents hair fall. It also promotes the growth of new strands. People are also opting for acupuncture for hair loss. This method of treatment focuses on stimulating certain acupuncture points that aid hair growth with needles. A seven star needle may be used to tap the area where the hair seems to be thinning. However, like any other form of treatment, acupuncture for hair loss in men and women must be performed only by a person trained in the field as an incorrect technique could lead to long-term damage.

Does black currant oil help hair loss?

Everyone wants to have thick, voluminous and healthy looking hair, regardless of their age or gender. This could be why there are so many products in the markets today that claim to thicken hair growth by preventing hair loss. However, some of these products contain harmful chemicals which can actually do your hair more harm than good. Therefore, you may want to look at more natural remedies like black currant for hair loss problems. There are many black currant seed oil benefits for hair loss that you should be aware of.

Black currant seed oil contains omega-3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids, which is excellent for providing moisture to the hair. Lack of moisture is one of the main problems of hair loss, as it leads to coarse and brittle hair, with split ends. This in turn causes the hair to break and fall, keeping it from growing properly. By using black currant oil, you could moisturize your hair naturally and thereby prevent hair fall. Black currant can add strength to your hair too, encouraging it to grow thicker and preventing hair fall problems. Black currant oil also contains Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), which keeps the hair from splitting.

To use black currant for hair loss, you could add a supplement to your diet. These supplements need to be taken regularly, preferably on a daily basis. However, if you do use black currant, do bear in mind that you probably won’t see any results for around 6 to 8 weeks.

Before you decide to use a supplement of black currant for hair thinning, make sure that you consult your doctor for appropriate doses. Also look out for adverse reactions to these supplements. Side effects of using black currant for hair loss are rare, but you could have an allergic reaction to it. Moreover, if you are predisposed to seizures, you should strictly avoid this remedy.

Can olive oil and lemon cure dandruff?

Dandruff is one of the most embarrassing skin conditions as it results in the formation of thick, oily flakes of dead skin cells on the scalp. These flakes either fall onto clothes or are seen in the form of white, shiny flakes nestled in the hair.

Being rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, lemons are known for their antiseptic trait as well as for their ability to aid skin repair. Similarly, olive oil for dandruff treatment is recommended as it is known for its ability to soothe and nourish skin as well as hair. However, the use of olive oil for dandruff removal has been questioned as it is very oily. Nevertheless, it can be used in combination with a few other ingredients. A mixture made using one tablespoon of oatmeal, two tablespoons of olive oil and the juice of one lemon is believed to be an excellent remedy for dandruff. Massaging the scalp with this mixture helps in improving blood circulation, stimulating the oil glands and enhancing the quality of hair. Oatmeal helps in absorbing the excess sebum while exfoliating the scalp thus ensuring minimal flaking following this treatment. Olive oil nourishes the hair as well as the skin. The lemon juice helps in restoring the pH balance of the scalp while fighting off fungal and bacterial infections. After a bath, rinsing the hair with a mixture of water and the juice of a lemon for dandruff treatment is another suitable home remedy.
