EPO or evening primrose oil is a fatty acid that comprises of gamma linolenic acid which is known to have anti inflammatory properties and also tends to act as a blood vessel dilator and a blood thinner. These properties of primrose oil prove to be very useful for those who suffer from aches, cramps and pain. Primrose oil helps women tackle infertility by enabling the body to produce fertile and high quality of cervical fluid which is also known as the egg white cervical mucus. There are some women who are known to be very dry and thus face problems in producing high quality fertile cervical fluid and hence have fertility issues. In such cases, women are recommended to take some primrose oil and even consume plenty of fresh drinking water which helps in the production of cervical fluid that is fertile. Ideally to be considered as fertile, women should have fertile quality and sufficient volume of cervical mucus which is required to support and maintain sperm integrity and sperm movement. One can easily identify fertile cervical mucus because it is semi transparent, stretchy and is very similar to an egg white in terms of consistency. Ideally women are prescribed primrose oil for fertility when even after the woman ovulates the cervical mucus has not increased in volume and the texture of the cervical mucus has not become more slippery, pliable and stretchable which is basically the required fertile cervical mucus. On the other hand some women tend to have hostile cervical mucus which is basically cervical mucus that lacks fertile properties. Primrose oil is one of the effective fertility aids as it helps in the production of fertile cervical mucus which enable the sperm to travel easily through the uterus of the woman and into the fallopian tubes till it finally reaches the egg and fertilizes it leading to conception. Though primrose oil is one of the preferred fertility aids, some of the mild side effects of consuming primrose oil are diarrhea, headaches, and nausea. |
