One of the home remedies for gonorrhoea involves putting the individual on a bland diet because it has been observed that a diet that includes spicy or fried foods tends to further aggravate the gonorrhoea symptoms. One of the home remedies for gonorrhoea would also include consuming the nutritious starchy water that is left behind while cooking rice. As part of the diet for gonorrhoea one should also consume plenty of fluids and fruits that have a high fluid content especially fruits such as apples, watermelons, berries, grapes and so on. Similarly home remedies for gonorrhoea also include the consumption of vegetables that have a high fluid content and that are known to be nutritious. Another effective home remedy for gonorrhoea is the consumption of the guyabano fruit which can be juiced then consumed as it is rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, B2 and B1.

What is a good therapy for gonorrhea?

The drug therapy for gonorrhea involves the treatment using antibiotics. Many times this gonorrhea therapy will also include treatment for Chlamydia as many patients diagnosed with gonorrhea tend to also develop Chlamydia. Additionally, the drug therapy for gonorrhea will also depend upon whether the infection is in the throat of the individual or the genitals. Throat infections of this disease are known to be more difficult to treat and therefore drug therapy for gonorrhea in this region would be more extensive. As part of the gonorrhea therapy one should also ensure that they switch to a diet that consists of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as plenty of fluids like drinking water and juices.

Drug therapy for gonorrhea will also include the administration of Fluoroquinolones which is part of the alternative treatment for an infection of disseminated gonorrhea. Those individuals who are undergoing drug therapy for gonorrhea should ensure that their sexual partners also get themselves treated as the infection could be passed back and forth between the two partners. Individuals under gonorrhea therapy should also abstain from sex until they are free of the symptoms as well as for 7 days at a stretch after their treatment has commenced.

How do you test for gonorrhea?

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease that is caused by bacteria. The most common method of transmission of this disease is through sexual contact through sexual intercourse as well as through oral contact. Gonorrhea can be cured through medication. An individual who is infected must report this infection to his or her partner so that the partner can be tested. There is no blood test of gonorrhea. Instead, a sample may be used from the urethra or the cervix for men and women respectively. This sample can be tested in a number of different ways to determine if the bacterium that causes gonorrhea is present in the sample. In some cases, a sample swab may be taken from under the eyelids as well.

A home test for gonorrhea can be conducted using a test kit which allows for sample collection. This can then be sent anonymously to a testing center for analysis. However, the delicate method of sample collection means that one should have this test performed in a clinic only where trained professionals will collect the sample and test it for the bacterium. The gonorrhea test result may only come after a few days of sample testing through bacteria cultures.

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease. The causative organism is Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacterium. It targets the mucous membranes of the genitals, from where it spreads to the other parts, through the circulatory system. Gonorrhea is a venereal disease, which is transmitted through sexual intercourse, which in turn affects the eyes, urethra, vagina, throat and rectum. Infection is also possible from mother to a child, during child birth. In some individuals, gonorrhea is not the only infection, which is transmitted through partners. Other infections that are common, apart from gonorrheal infection are HIV, hepatitis C, B and A, thrush and syphilis.

In the case of women, cervix is generally affected. Typical symptoms of gonorrhea include irritation, inflammation of the prostate gland and testicles and yellow discharge from the penis. Slimy and limited discharge is seen in the initial stages. It becomes thick and yellow, in chronic cases. Gonorrhea in the rectum is common in homosexual men. It is at times pain less, in such individuals. Bloody discharge is also common. Vaginal discharge is common in women.

Gonorrhea is a serious infection, which might result in prostatitis or inflammation of the prostate gland, urethritis or inflammation of the urethra and epididymitis. Gonorrhea also results in rashes, shivers, elevated body temperature and painful joints. Inflammation of the heart and cerebrospinal meningitis are also seen to occur, in severe cases.  Treatment, right after diagnosis, is important to prevent further complications, such as PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease). A single dose of antibiotics, either in the intravenous or oral form, is effective. Eye infection, as a result of gonorrhea is treated with silver nitrate. Practice of safe sex is important. Use of a condom is helpful.

A plain and bland diet, which is not stimulating, is helpful. A spice rich diet, such as one with a lot of chilies is not preferred. This helps in the prevention of irritation and inflammation. Spices and consumption of unfermented beer and new wine also increases the gonorrheal discharge. Sticking to a single partner or avoidance of multiple sex partners is highly beneficial. Keep a track of any symptoms, which arise. Practice of safe sex is necessary. Treatment of the spouse or partner helps in the prevention of infection in the spouse. Infection is possible in the prostate and testicles, thereby resulting in difficulty in urine passage and pain. Infertility is also commonly associated with gonorrheal infection. Ask your grandfather to take the guidance of a physician.
