An 11 year old eating all meals properly does not really require a diet for food. It is more important that you provide your daughter with a proper and healthy diet for her dry skin. This will benefit her the most. It is important to remember that she is heading towards adolescence. This is an age when hormones are changing and manifesting themselves in different ways.

Sometimes, the skin is the most affected part. It could be possible that her dry skin is just a harbinger for the future. That is to say that her skin will most probably have a tendency to remain dry.

You can begin by adding a little bit of rich food to her regular diet; mostly nuts such as cashew nuts, almonds, walnuts, hazel nuts, pecans, pistachios and so on will help to add the necessary moisture to her skin. These are also good for her overall health, especially at a time when she is growing. A fist full of nuts eaten every day will make all the difference. You can also add butter to her diet. It is always preferable to add fattening substances like butter to breakfast. This will ensure that she works off the extra calories with the activities pursued by her in the course of the entire day. A perfect alternative to butter, if you wish to avoid that, is clarified butter. This is also known as clarified butter. Not only will it add the all important moisture to her skin, it will also improve her overall health, since clarified butter is known to have therapeutic properties as well.

It is very important for you to train your daughter to follow a proper routine of skin care at an early age. She should make it a point to wash and moisturize her face every night. It is best to do it just before bedtime. This will give the moisturizer adequate time to work on her skin overnight. A simple one available over the counter will suffice. You can also try a few before you decide upon which one to use, as this will enable her to choose one that is best for her skin type. You can also use pure olive oil, which is always a better alternative. Olive oil also has properties that will prevent from skin damage due to pollution, the sun and so on. It is also advisable to have a glass of whole milk everyday, as this is known to nourish the skin.
