Improper diet and exercises weakens wrist muscles

Home treatment to make my wrist strong?
(July 25, 2008)

In order to make your wrists strong, you can follow a simple two fold method of diet and exercise. The reason for weakened wrists is also two fold. It is a combination of over use as well as a neglected diet that leads to this particular weakness. You need to work on the muscles and tendons in your wrist in order to make them stronger. For this, a high protein diet is the first order of the day.

You must increase your consumption of all dairy products - this would include milk, cream, cheeses and yogurts. Make it a point to have one dairy product with each meal. Alternatively, you can also have them as snacks. You will notice a difference in terms of better musculature almost within a week of beginning this kind of a diet.

Apart from a rich protein intake, you need to make sure your diet consists of raisins, apples, pears, grapes, peanuts, peas, and broccoli on a regular basis. These foods contain mineral named boron that helps the body to absorb calcium better. Calcium rich food such as milk, almonds, and white beans too should be part of your daily diet. All of these will combine to help strengthen your system overall. It is absolutely essential that you remember that if you are adding to your musculature, you also need to drink more water. When muscles develop suddenly, they need excess water to keep them well plumped and in good condition. You should make it a point to drink at least 10 liters of fluid everyday. This can be in the form of water, milk, juice, yogurt or aerated drinks, although the last is the least preferred.

Since we use our hands for almost everything that we do, we are forever exercising our wrists without being aware of it. It is, therefore, easy to work out our wrist muscles even while performing simple household chores. Let us take up the example of a simple chore like vacuuming or lawn mowing. Hold the handle of the vacuum or the lawn mower from the top, that is, with you palm facing down and push the vacuum or the lawn mower. After a few minutes, change the position of your hand and hold the handle of the vacuum or the lawn mower from below, so that your palm is facing up and then push the vacuum or lawn mower. After some time, switch hands and repeat the same procedure. This will effectively exercise your wrists.
