One thing that they all have in common is that they are sour in flavor & have high acetic levels.

Is drinking vinegar good for you?

In today’s world, several people use vinegar, while cooking, to enhance the taste of their food. Vinegar is also a common ingredient that is used in home remedies to cure several ailments, conditions and problems. However, the thought of “drinking vinegar” may sound absolutely revolting to several people, because of its smell and sour taste. However, in certain countries, like Japan, drinking vinegar has become quite a common habit, with over 8% of the population being regular “drinkers” and at least 70% of the population having tried it at point or the other. There are several benefits of drinking vinegar, which makes it a common practice in some cultures.

Some of the most common vinegar benefits include improving the flow of blood throughout the body and reducing blood pressure. Vinegar is known for thinning the blood and making the blood vessels expand. Some people also drink vinegar occasionally, to recover from fatigue. However, the most well known benefit of vinegar is probably that it boosts a person’s metabolism, which helps in faster weight loss. Vinegar is usually used by several beauty experts too, since it is known to have properties that improve the condition and tone of the skin. When mixed with honey, apple cider vinegar can help reduce arthritis pain. It is also possible to use vinegar for dealing with digestive problems, ulcers, cholesterol and bowel functions.

It is not possible for anybody to just pop a spoonful of vinegar in the mouth, no matter how healthy it is supposed to be. Therefore, in order to enjoy the benefits of drinking vinegar in the long term, it is important to find a way to make it tolerable to drink it. The good news is that drinking a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar each day is enough to enjoy most of its health benefits. The easiest way of drinking vinegar is by mixing 1½ tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water and drinking the mixture twice a day. A small amount of lime or lemon juice can also be added to the mixture, to make it more palatable. People who drink vinegar on a regular basis often advise others not to smell the vinegar before drinking it, or else the mixture seems to taste even worse.

Even though there are several benefits of drinking vinegar daily, it is important to first consult a doctor, before adding it to your diet, especially, if you suffer from any medical condition.

Drinking 2 table spoons of diluted vinegar in warm water would benefit our body in different ways. It would help to decrease cholesterol, lose weight, improve bowel movements, prevent ulcers, improve digestion, cure hiccups, headaches, urinary tract infection and also fight against certain food cravings. You can add equal amounts of honey in the water along with vinegar to improve taste (skip honey if you have diabetes).
