Hair is found all over the human body. Hair is thicker or thinner at different parts of the body. Most modern trends suggest that it is desirable for people to get rid of body hair from certain parts of the body. This is particularly applicable for women as it is considered unfashionable for women to have hair on certain parts of the body. The arms and legs are particularly important when it comes to hair removal. Hair occurs naturally around the body and is often useful for preserving body heat. In modern conditions, this is not such an issue or consideration for the individual. It is therefore desirable to get rid of hair from these parts of the body. Many women, and men, also seek to have their eyebrows trimmed or shaped so that they are more appealing. The term natural hair removal is a little bit of a paradox because under natural conditions one’s hair would grow uncontrolled. However, one can apply this classification of natural hair removal to methods that use naturally occurring products or manual techniques. The use of chemicals, synthetic substances and machine operated methods of hair removal are considered as non-natural hair removal techniques. One of the most commonly applied natural hair removal methods is the use of wax. One can purchase synthetic wax but many people feel that natural wax is better as it does not damage the skin. The method of waxing is painful and some people avoid it for this reason. The wax liquid is warmed and applied to the skin using a spatula or similar device. A cloth is then placed on the wax and pressed onto the skin so that it is in contact with the skin along its whole length. The cloth is then ripped off in a direction against the hair growth. This action is quite painful but the individual gets used to it over a period of time. Sugaring is another natural hair removal process. This process is similar to waxing but uses a sugar solution rather than wax. Many women prefer this method as the sugar liquid tends not to attach to the skin and simply allows adhesion to the hairs. This means that the skin will not be pulled as the hair is being removed. This method may not work with stubborn hair or thick hair growth and may need to be repeated once or twice. Another natural hair removal method is threading. This is a precise method used for areas where small amounts of hair need to be removed. The eyebrows and the upper lip area are places where threading is used. Threading can be extremely accurate but is difficult and requires a trained hand for it to be performed. Finally, another mechanical method can be used for hair removal and this is tweezing. Tweezers can be used to remove individual hairs from areas on the face or from areas where stray hairs are left behind. This is easier than threading although it may be painful if the tweezers are not handled properly. |
