Advice on lip swelling
Is it dangerous if my lips swells. and my voice is not clear.

Advice on lip swelling Cause of Lip swelling:The cause of lip swelling can be a minor allergy, eczema (inflammation of the lips), hives, or in extreme cases, even acromegaly (enlarged lips). • Allergic causes Bee stings are often the common cause of lip swelling. As your body tries to fight off the allergens delivered by the sting, you may suffer mild tingling to painful inflammation of your lips. The severity of the symptom differs from person to person. While the cause of lip swelling may be an allergic reaction, it could, in extreme cases, lead to coma or turn fatal. • Non-allergic causes Many conditions like Macrocheilia (permanent swelling of the lips), Cheilitis Glandularis (swelling of the lower lip) and Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome (edema and lip swelling) can also manifest itself as lip swelling first before developing into conditions that are more painful.

The causative factor is to be identified. Lip swelling might be a result of insect bite, abrasion and infection. Your voice, if unclear might be due to clogged ears or sore throat, which is again a result of infection. Take the guidance of a ENT specialist. | |
