|
|
High protein foods like dairy products, tree nuts and shellfish can commonly cause hives in many cases. Many people are allergic or hypersensitive to the proteins which are found in cow’s milk in particular and this can be one of the causes of hives while following a high protein diet. Similarly tree nuts are also a common cause of allergy which can in turn cause hives in many people. The proteins from tree nuts when ingested by an allergic person can be attacked by the immune system causing a release of chemicals and antibodies which in turn can cause skin reactions like hives. Tree nut proteins can be found in food products like lunch meats, cereals and even candies and can be a common cause of hives. Shellfish should never be included in a high protein diet especially for people who have an allergy as they can easily cause hives in such people. |

Hives Symptoms and Treatment: Hives are a type of skin rash that is represented by red, inflamed bumps on the skin surface. These bumps are extremely itchy and may be sensitive to touch. Scratching hives bumps may result in further reddening and possibly bleeding due to excessive scratching. The term hives covers a few different skin conditions that produce similar symptoms. These symptoms can be caused by different triggers. Some cases of hives are reported as auto-immune conditions. In such cases, the hives are a result of an allergic reaction to some substance that has either been ingested or has come into contact with the skin. In other cases, hives may be caused by viral infections or by a condition that has not yet been understood or diagnosed. Treating hives involves avoiding foods that may be responsible for the outbreak. If the condition is chronic, then along with medical tests, one should also look for an underlying cause of the outbreak. Food Allergy Hives: A food allergy is one that occurs when the ingestion of a particular food or food type causes allergic reactions to occur. The reaction occurs as a result of the body’s reaction to a specific chemical or substance in the food item. If the allergic reaction is mild then the reaction may even go unnoticed or may be passed off as digestive distress because it is unlikely to present any obvious and visible food allergy symptoms. Allergies that are more severe are likely to bring about reactions that can be life threatening such as respiratory failure due to blockage of the throat. Most serious food allergies result in an outbreak of rashes on the body. It is possible for hives to occur as a result of a food allergy. Food allergies are caused when the body reacts to a protein that is present in the food that is being consumed. Any protein that the body perceives as dangerous to it will be treated so and may result in an allergic reaction. A high protein diet can cause an allergic reaction to occur. This will happen when a person has a mild and previously unnoticed allergy to a particular protein that is being regularly consumed. If the quantity of this protein is increased it may cause an allergic reaction which may result in hives.
