Advice on Mayo Clinic Diet

The Mayo clinic diet is a pattern of life and is slightly above the following a diet. It helps in weight loss and concentrates on the long run. Eating a healthy diet is one of the primary principles of this diet. Hunger in severe forms is not felt as there are no great restrictions. Moderate quantities of lean protein namely, fish, low fat dairy products and legumes.


Unsaturated fats that are cardiac friendly are also included.

The base of the pyramid is made of fruits and vegetables. Even when eaten in large quantities, they are taken in unlimited amounts. About 4 to 8 servings of carbohydrates and 3 to 7 servings of protein, in the form of dairy products are taken. Sweets can contribute to 75 calories and not more. Enhancing the physical activity is equally important, as every movement or activity contributes to the expenditure of some amount of calories.

A healthy lifestyle helps in achieving a healthy body and this is the ultimate goal of this diet. At least, 30 to 60 minutes of activity is recommended on all days of the week.
