Slimming Diet

There is a slew of slimming diets today, each one claiming to show almost instantaneous results, all due to the fact that obesity is probably the most common eating disorder. Most of these diets try to exclude a certain type of food group such as high protein and low carb diets or conversely high carb but low protein diets. The only slimming diet that truly shows results is a healthy, balanced diet that is grounded in raw fruits and vegetables commonly known as the raw foods diet. Fruits and vegetables contain carbohydrates, essential vitamins and minerals as well as fiber. Fiber is important for the digestion and assimilation of food.

Cabbage is probably the best of all slimming foods as it contains tartonic acid. This acid inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates (especially sugars) into fat. Cabbage also has an extremely low calorific value while providing a lasting feeling of fullness. If you do not want to give up on your usual foods, I suggest that you have a cabbage salad before your meals. This will also control the amount of fatty foods but it will take longer for you to see results. Vegetables like carrots, cauliflower and broccoli are extremely low in calories and have even been considered to be negative calorie foods. This means that the body consumes more energy to digest these foods than what they actually contain. Although this idea is theoretically sound, it has not yet been scientifically proven. Nonetheless, it is definite that these foods are perfectly suited for dieting. You could try having them as a vegetable soup or as a salad. Make sure that you do not use a salad dressing or if you must, then use a homemade dressing made out of olive oil as it contains healthy fats. Keep the vegetables required for your salad washed and ready to be chopped. Whenever you feel the need for a snack, make yourself a salad and allow yourself to eat as large a serving as you feel like.  Do not try to cut down on the amount of salad that you eat as this will only increase your hunger pangs and therefore increase your chances of binging.

It is also important that you get adequate amounts of protein, fats and carbohydrates. You can have a handful of nuts at least twice a day. This will provide you with proteins and essential fatty acids. Do not have any processed white flour products such as pastas, or even white bread. Instead opt for whole wheat products that are easier to digest and have greater nutritional value as slimming foods.
