Healthy Diet Plans >> Healthy Weight Control >> Diet vs.Lifestyle |
Diet vs. LifestyleDiet usually indicates the food that we are eating. But it can also be used to describe weight loss plan, for a temporary period. In these cases (diets) if you stray even a bit, you end up binging on food and ultimately gain weight. This also will increase a lot of health problem, as the body cannot get accustomed to repeated change in eating habits. Lifestyle implies a permanent change, based on core value of a healthy living. It reflects values and attitudes of a person. Recent studies have proved that our body is made up of hormones called ghrelin that slows metabolism and stimulates appetite. So people who will follow a crash course diet and lose weight will end up producing more ghrelin. This can be helpful only to people suffering from cancer, aids (who have waif-like bodies) because the more the weight loss the more ghrelin is released and appetite increases. But it is not very beneficial for people who are trying to lose weight desperately and quickly. Sudden increase in ghrelin can be avoided by adopting GRADUAL weight control lifestyle. Your system also gets adapted slowly to a changing body. So the winner is the one who is slow and steady. You may not be able to achieve a body that you crave for in a short time, but for the rest of your life you will be able to maintain a healthy weight. |
