Fruit - Cure for All Stomach Ailments

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” goes the age old saying. Modern day medical science shows us that this saying holds truer than we take it to be. Let us take the case of the banana. Banana contains pectin, and when this fruit is eaten, the pectin absorbs water and acts as a laxative. Eating two ripe bananas in the morning should be more than enough to cure constipation. Eating bananas also helps to prevent acidity.

The papaya is another fruit that is very good for the digestive system. Eating ripe papaya on a regular basis cures and prevents constipation. It is also eases the pain for people suffering from piles or hernia.

Lime has for long known to be an excellent source of Vitamin C. In the old days, sailors were given two slices of lime a day to prevent the onset of scurvy. Lemon juice is very useful in curing common colds, and a bad throat.

The bael fruit is used as a laxative and to treat dysentery. The fruit is prepared as a juice for curing constipation. In order to treat dysentery, the unripe fruit is used.

There are some stomach ailments, especially the ones that are common in children that can be easily prevented, by following simple hygienic measures and by eating a healthy diet on a daily basis. However, there are several stomach ailments and digestive disturbances that may be uncontrollable and may occur due to another underlying condition. Therefore it is absolutely necessary for all people to consult a doctor as soon as any of the possible stomach ailments and symptoms are seen.
