CUCUMBER
Cucumis sativus

Cucumber has a number of medicinal properties that were well known to Greek, Roman, and Arab physicians. Research by Japanese scientists has also verified its exceptional medical properties.

Cucumber is used in juice therapy to increase the flow of urine. It is also used in combination with celery and carrot juice to treat rheumatism. The juice is also used as a soothing skin lotion and has a beneficial effect on the skin even when ingested.

The peel that is left behind after juicing can be rubbed gently on the hands in order to soothe them.

DANDELION
Taraxacum officinale

This beautiful flowering plant has also been used as an herbal medicine since time immemorial. Dandelion was used by both the Germans and the French in treating diseases in the days before the advent of modern medicine. Ground dandelion roots are used in Belgium as a decaffeinated coffee substitute.

Dandelion has a high iron, carotene, calcium, potassium, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E content. In juice therapy, dandelion juice is used in combination with watercress juice to treat ailments of the gall bladder and liver. It also has a beneficial effect on the nervous system. The juice is also an excellent diuretic.

When choosing the plant, select one with broad leaves, as this will be more tender and juicy.
