Cut Smart Diet Tips
A healthy well balanced diet does not imply starving yourself but eating nutritious food in the right amount. Mostly, problems like weight gain and obesity result from a faulty diet combined with lack of enough physical exercise. Thus, it is important to know what foods you should eat to maintain an optimum body weight. Make sure that you set aside at least an hour every day to engage in some form of physical exercise such as swimming, jogging or aerobics.
It is also a good idea to join a gym if you want to target specific areas of your body where you tend to put on weight very easily.
Even if you do not find enough time to exercise, simple measures like climbing up stairs instead of using the elevator and walking short distances instead of using a vehicle help in burning excess body fat and keeping you fit. Regular exercise has the added benefit of ensuring proper digestion of food.
You should also avoid processed foods and deep-fried snacks as they often contain a very high level of saturated fats that are harmful for your body.
Also, artificially sweetened and carbonated drinks, alcohol, confectionaries and ice-creams should be consumed only sparingly. You should also intersperse your meals with light “natural” snacks like nuts, sprouts, fruits and fruit juices, as they prevent overeating during meals.
In addition, there are other dietary measures that help you stay in good shape.
A glass of orange juice should be consumed just before breakfast every morning. This is a nutritious way of detoxifying your body. Eat a breakfast comprising a cup of whole grain cereals soaked in skimmed milk or a small bowl of yoghurt.
You may also have an apple or a banana along with this.
If you want to lose weight gradually, eating a couple of tomatoes every morning at breakfast is a good idea. For lunch, have a small cup of rice with some steamed vegetables like cabbage, beans or broccoli. Green salads made of spinach or lettuce and flavored with a little olive oil, mint leaves and pepper is quite fulfilling and nutritious. You may also have a half-boiled egg to complete your lunch. Your evening snack should comprise a cup of warm green tea and a couple of unsalted crackers. Dinner should be a simple affair consisting of a few slices of whole wheat bread and a bowl of chicken soup.
