Homemade Herbal Remedies

For every disease today there is a conventional cure and an alternate cure. Natural herbal remedies and cures are often from the alternate stream. But these natural herbal remedies often have better long lasting results than conventional medical treatments.

Homemade herbal remedies have easy recipes. These easy herbal remedy recipes are quick and natural herbal cures. Herbs and these herbal cures different forms of essential oils, enzymes, trace elements and other minerals that react with the body and correct what is wrong with it.


Some theories say it is better to use herbal remedies because the herbs correct the disease while the modern medicine corrects the symptoms.

Herbs used in treatment include even spices and condiments that are used in everyday food. Fruits and vegetables also play a role.


Herbs can be used directly, in teas, in inhalations and through applications.  Herbal remedies are usually used for common ailments. For the most common cold and flu, you can use herbs like nettle, peppermint, Echinacea, ginger, blackberry and pomfrey. These herbs are used in the form of infusions or herbal teas.  There are some herbs that are used for sore throats but honey is the best for sore throats.


You can also use herbs infused honey. Use herbs like slippery elm, thyme and plantain to infuse the honey. A gargle of red sage is also very beneficial.


Herbs are also used for common aches and pains. 

Herbs like chamomile, peppermint, cayenne and lavender are very helpful. These are used in the form of ointments, lotions and liniments. The quickest remedy for bites and abrasions are usually herbal remedies only. Herbs like aloe, calendula, yarrow, plantain and lavender are very good to relieve the abrasions and irritation from bites. Lavender and valerian are very good to remedy insomnia. Spiced oil in inhalations is also very good to cure stuffy noses and give you a good night’s sleep. Headaches and fevers can be remedied with coffee, lavender, peppermint and cayenne pepper compresses. Caraway seeds infused in water and then drinking that water can be very good for the digestion system. Chamomile tea is very good for digestion, especially if you brew it with chamomile flowers. Ginger is a very robust spice. It can be used to counter nausea, combat colds and other infections can be used to boost immunity. You can have it raw, with honey; in tea or even as ginger ale. Another very effective herb is mint. Fresh mint is refreshing to chew and helps get rid of bad breath. It can aid digestion especially when eaten after a particularly heavy and rich meal. Geranium is also known to aid digestion if it massaged with a carrier oil, straight onto the belly.

Even some of the more serious illness like arthritis, diabetes and other lifestyle diseases has herbs which can help them, along with their medications to control the symptoms. These should be taken after consulting your doctor as sometimes the herbs can react contrarily with modern medication. Experts suggest that if you do get any relief within three day of using any herbal remedy, you should discontinue using it and consult an expert opinion.
