Eating Cauliflower With Mashed Potatoes
What is cauliflower diet? How should it be followed? In which ways can cauliflower be consumed and what are its health benefits?
Cauliflower is certainly a healthy vegetable; it is rich in fiber, vitamin C, and several minerals, is low in fat, and also contains several phytochemicals. However it is not a complete meal and the cauliflower diet as the name indicates is a restrictive and severe diet. By its very nature, this would not be a permanent diet, but it would be meant to last for a few days, at regular intervals. This is quite typical of crash diets. I would advise you to instead switch to a healthy and balanced long term diet that is sustainable. Include cauliflower in your diet, but make sure that it is a balanced diet with a variety of other fruits and vegetables.
Cauliflower : Healthy Low Fat Diet
This may seem more practical and less of a chore than what most people think of as a diet, but the fact is that it is extremely unhealthy, and does not really work. If you really want to lose weight and keep fit, you need to work at it regularly. And the fact is that it is not necessary to torture yourself either continuously or periodically to do this. Radical, severely restrictive diets that are supposed to be permanent are no better than diets undertaken once a month. A more sensible and effective way to go about it is to simply restrict your food intake to a reasonable amount on a daily basis. You do not need to completely stop eating the foods you love, even if they are high calorie foods. However, you do need to eat less of them.
In general, your diet should contain less fat, and the fat that you do consume should be healthy. Healthy fats can be obtained from oily fish like salmon, from nuts, and from most vegetable oils. To some extent, dairy products are also healthy. However, cheese and red meat usually contain a considerable amount of harmful fats, and so does most junk food, including cakes, pies, burgers, and so on.
Many of these foods also contain refined carbohydrates, which also add to your weight and damage your health in other ways too. Still, as mentioned earlier – it is not necessary for you to never eat these foods again. A diet as restrictive as the cauliflower diet is ill advised as it is most likely to induce bingeing and subsequent weight gain once the diet duration is completed. Instead, keep these foods as occasional treats, and be sensible and restrained when you do eat them.
